The CGI Group’s European operations pursue ISO 14001 Environmental Certification

London, England 13th September 2006 CGI Europe Ltd, a unit of The CGI Group, a leading global provider of print and communications services has begun the ISO 14001:2004 certification process, the global standard for certification of Environmental Management Systems. This certification process will begin in the European operations and is anticipated to eventually be rolled out worldwide.

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard that provides a framework for managing and maintaining the environmental responsibilities of a company.

Barry Page, European Operations Director, commented, “This is an exciting step for CGI as we look to become a more environmentally friendly print and communications provider.” Continuing, Mr Page said “As a leading communications company we have an obligation to be very sensitive to our impact on the environment. Implementing this program will assist CGI in identifying ways to reduce the impact of printing on the environment and help CGI to identify opportunities for our clients to reduce their impact on the environment.”
