CGI Europe’s digital unit expands its variable data processing output through acquisition of its 3rd iGen3

London, UK. October 26, 2006 – CGI Digital today announced the expansion of its total communications solution with the installation of its third Xerox DocuColor iGen3 digital production press. CGI is the first site in the United Kingdom to run three iGen3 presses in a single location, from its City base in E3 London.

Barry Page, Director of European Operations for the CGI Group said: “We have recently observed an intensive growth in demand for time critical, colour, cut-sheet applications. The third Xerox iGen3 installed at our City location will be used to satisfy this demand, providing our clients with additional capacity for their customised solution requirements. It will support our existing fleet of digital machines, increasing our monthly digital colour capacity to nearly 10 million prints per month. If we combine it with the London site’s ability to produce 52 million mono digital prints per month, CGI Europe is now one of the largest digital printers in Europe.”

“Our customers’ needs are very often based on fast turnaround documents containing variable information and the press’s capabilities allow exactly that. This, and our long-lasting partnership with Xerox were sufficient reasons for us to make our decision. We are investing in the digital printing aspect of our operation, as we believe it continues to increase in relevance as part of CGI’s total communication solution.” said Mr Page.

Peter Taylor, General Manager and Director, Xerox Graphic Arts (UK) said: “The CGI Group has been a Xerox customer and Premier Partner for many years. We are happy to see that the capabilities offered by the Xerox iGen3 help the company develop and prosper. To buy one iGen3 is pleasing, to buy two an enormous endorsement for the product, but to install and run three is a fantastic testament from one of our most highly regarded customers about the power and versatility of the Xerox iGen3 marque. For time critical, sensitive and high quality documents, the iGen3 is the ideal press for the job.”
