The audience. The versioning. The print. The postage. The in-home date. And the measurement that tells you what to change.
Bring us your list — or let us build you a better one.
Yours, or one we target and build.

05 MeasuredResponse tied to the record, fed to the next drop.
Each cycle should return more than the last — and now you can run more cycles every year. That’s the whole idea.
What actually moves a response rate?
Targeting & dataNothing you can change about a mail program moves response like changing who receives it. Stock, format, and creative matter at the margins. Targeting decides the outcome — and we can build the list, not just print onto it.
We source and model audiences, not just process the file you send. Demographic, firmographic, behavioral and geographic selects, modelled lookalikes off your own best customers, and suppression against who you already have.
Where the plan becomes something a person holds. It’s the largest stage in the program, and the one we just put the newest inkjet press in commercial print behind.
Postage is usually the largest line item in a mail program, and measurement is what makes the next one perform better than this one. Both sit with us.
Phase grouping and stage names are a working draft pending sign-off. Postage optimization, in-home date management, and measurement are DG3 services and carry no HP dependency.
So what changed on your floor?
The new pressHP builds the press. We invested in it, installed it, and run it — the newest inkjet technology in commercial print, now sitting in the middle of a system we have operated for years. Same partner, same accountability, materially more capability.1
HP PageWide Advantage 2200 — unwinder through finishing, installed configuration. Imagery supplied by HP.
Two things follow from that, and neither is a specification.
Image quality that holds its own against offset, on coated and uncoated, on the stocks your programs already use — and it holds run to run, so the January drop and the July drop look like the same brand.3
A rotary knife cuts on an angle, which is why a full-bleed piece sometimes shows a hairline of white along the trim. Our new guillotine line cuts flat. Buyers have been blaming their artwork for that for years.7
So what can you put in the mail now?
Stocks, formats & versioningThe old line stopped at 9 pt and topped out at 200 ft a minute on coated stock. The new one runs 40 lb text through 16 pt board at 500 ft a minute on coated — roughly a fivefold expansion in what we can put through a high-speed digital line.4
The same piece, the same weight, the same finish — produced on a faster line. That stretches the same marketing budget further without changing a thing about the creative.
A heavier, more tactile piece stops being the option that prices itself out of the plan. Same audience, same budget, a piece that feels like it cost more.
Range is meaningless if the bindery can’t follow. Our cutting was the real ceiling at 9 pt, so a new guillotine line went in alongside the press and takes the full 16 pt. Inline UV and aqueous coating plus inline perforating run on the same pass — a rare configuration on this press, and fewer vendors and handoffs on your job.8
True variable data at full production speed. Every piece in a run can carry its own offer, image, and message without slowing the press down — so versioning stops being a trade-off you have to justify and starts being the default.5
You already accept this in email: one send, one dataset, every recipient getting something addressed to them. The difference is that the tactile channel now runs on the same logic, at volume, without the premium that used to force a choice between reach and relevance.
Faster cycles compound it. More test-and-launch windows in a year means more of what worked and less of what didn’t, and less exposure on time-sensitive drops.6
One dataset, three channels. The piece that lands Tuesday and the email that arrives Wednesday are built from the same record, so they say the same thing to the same person instead of quietly contradicting each other.
Versioned, presorted, tracked to an in-home window. The channel people still open.
Built off the same variable data, timed against the in-home date rather than guessed at.
The short, immediate follow-up, triggered on the same record and the same logic.
Reporting spans all three channels, so you can see which channel moved a given segment rather than only whether the campaign worked. That is the difference between a result and a reason.11
Color codes the line of business — the only job an accent is allowed to do here.
Variable, versioned, presorted
Coated silk · high volumeTriggered off the data, not a calendar
Coated silk · versionedPerfect-bound and saddle-stitched
Coated silk · matteLong-run text with color throughout
Matte coatedThe heavy, tactile piece that used to price out
Heavy coated · glossShort-run premium, no offset minimum
Gloss coatedMICR option, at scale, on deadline
Inkjet-treated · MICRRegulated, dated, fully variable
Inkjet-treatedHeavier coated stock and inline coating open a category we could not run on a high-speed digital line before — pieces where every unit is different and the substrate has to hold up to handling.
Indicative applications. Supported stocks and finishes are configuration-dependent; weights above reflect our installed configuration.4
Ask your partner what theirs is. Then ask what they have invested in the last twelve months.
A marketing program is a supply chain wearing a creative brief. When one link stops — capacity, data, a mail stream, a system — the campaign does not degrade gracefully. It stops. We build for the version where that does not happen: redundant capacity, multi-press coverage, and a continuous investment cycle in the equipment your work actually runs on.
The strength and vision to invest in what our customers need next.
Send us a program you already run, or one you shelved because the stock, the minimum, or the versioning made it impossible. We will price it against the new line, tell you honestly whether it moves, and show you what we would change about the audience.
